These qualifications are intended for those who want to gain the knowledge and abilities that will enable you to gain the underlying knowledge to progress towards becoming an Electrotechnical Installer.
The Level 2 qualification is designed for new entrants to the industry, providing them with the basic skills and experience they need.
The Level 3 qualification is aimed at those who have already completed the Level 2 qualification or with some relevant experience and knowledge of the industry.
The qualification covers many areas within Electro technical technology, units such as principles of electrical science, electrical installations technology and health and safety within Building Services Engineering.

Candidates will be assessed by on-demand multiple choice tests (available through the EAL and City & Guilds assessment platform) and practical assignments.
The course follows 8 key modules, as follows:
- Scope, Object and Fundamentals of electrical science
- Fault Diagnosis and rectification of electrical installations
- Commissioning of electrical system installations
- Protection for Safety
- Inspection and Testing
- Design career awareness in building services engineering
A minimum grade C in GCSE Maths, English and Science or equivalent, and/or have completed the 2365 level 2 and/or to have some electrical installation knowledge and practical experience.
Exam and Assessment
The element exams for the course are an online, open-book exam; which is to be completed once the course modules and content have been successfully finished and understood.

The start date of each course will be determined at the start of the academic year and in January of each year , with the daytime course being run on a Tuesday, and the evening course on a Tuesday or Wednesday evening.
